Caffeine is a multi functional, food grade active ingredient that presents interesting possibilities for the formulation of personal care products and cosmetically. Well known for it's ability to increase micro circulation and reduce puffiness, it is recognised as one of the best actives for dark circles and puffiness. Because of the circulation enhancement it is also well known for its ability to reduce the tissues resulting in a slenderising effect. In a Journal of Cosmetic Medicine (2008) article it was reported to have been very effective for 80% of the subjects tested. The treatment was analysed after 30 days with 2X daily applications of a 7% treatment. Noticeable slimming effects were noted for the lower and upper thighs as well as the hips.
