Botanic Name: Parietaria Officinalis
Constituents are sulphur; tannic acid; bitter principles; flavones; potassium and calcium salts; mucilage. Diuretic action due to the presence of potassium salts and flavones.
Demulcent; diuretic. Employed in the treatment of cystitis, with or without bladder stones, and less frequently in pyelitis. To be avoided by hay fever sufferers; this is one of several species shown to cause allergic rhinitis and possibly hypersensitivity pneumonitis. Part Used: dried or fresh flowering plant.
